Manager, International Sales

Summary of Position : This position will support international sales in targeted European and Asian countries. The scope and complexities of the international Sales function require an International Sales Manager to efficiently plan, support and assist in the execution of international business development. This role will report to the Director of International Sales.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • International Sales Event Support, with tasks required including, but not limited to:
  • Provide project management support for all international events including preparation of registrations, reports, charts and other statistics to successfully execute and yield results. This includes making contact with companies and institutions in support of these events.
  • Manage post-event follow-up process:
  • Collect company, contact and lead generation and client followup with precision and accuracy into SalesForce
  • Initiate rigorous follow-up process across JO/JON with Leads and Projects
  • International Inbound-to-Ohio Missions, with tasks required including:
  • Serve as a client-facing liaison to international corporate and government prospective delegations to Ohio
  • Plan, manage and execute inbound missions to support relationship development and foreign direct investment (FDI) in the state
  • Manage 18-month rolling calendar of key international sales events (market-based mission trips, exhibitions and shows, travel, key diplomatic meetings, etc.)
  • Ensure that international sales events are planned and executed with highest quality, including proper integration across functional areas including Sector Teams, Marketing, JON regions and others
  • Assist with budget management to ensure targeted goals met and events produce ROI
  • Coordinate with event management companies, hotels, and other support companies, if applicable
  • International Lead Management and Funnel Reporting
  • Ensure JO/JON International Lead reports are timely, accurate, and meaningful
  • Ensure reports are updated weekly and activity is managed to ensure data accuracy
  • Ensure International Leads are converted to Projects, when appropriate, and facilitate the transition to the Project Team as required for an integrated customer experience
  • Provide analysis and insights on current status of the international sales funnel as well as trend analysis
  • Oversee lead generation efforts provided by OCO Global worldwide
  • Manage contacts resulting from campaigns by ensuring data is appropriately entered in SalesForce and that there is follow up with those contacts
  • Communicate to JO/JON on critical intelligence affecting International Sales events
  • Work with the Director of International Sales and Network Manager to ensure appropriate two-way communication is consistently occurring between JobsOhio and the Network Partners
  • Support the International Sales Director to develop and roll-out innovations and best practices across JobsOhio Network Partners
  • Drive accountability across business development functions and industry vertical teams and activities (e.g., ensure completion of Event Scorecard protocols)

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of International Sales.

Skill requirements include, but not limited to:

  • Strong communication (speaking and listening) skills, demonstrated with customers, internal clients and direct reports; public speaking and writing skills; will include some calling of cold contacts and email blasts;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Able to prioritization and quickly react to changes in requirements;
  • Ability to work and communicate with multiple, diverse cultures;
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects at the same time;
  • Experience in one or more of JobsOhio’s industry verticals; willing to learn about verticals;
  • Experience with complex sales and selling to senior management. Desirous of serving prospective customer requirements;
  • Experience with site selection consultants very desirable;
  • Sales planning experience;
  • Powerpoint and spreadsheet proficiency;
  • Some international and domestic travel may be required;
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiating and influencing others with a proven ability to work with others or achieve buy in from others.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, with [3]+ years of sales and/or economic development experience
