Maintenance Support Technician

Develop and assist in supporting the West Des Moines School District’s maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. Provide daily support to maintenance staff in order to create a healthy and safe learning environment for the students, staff, families and community in accordance with district policy, state and federal mandates.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum A.S. or A.A.S in related field including engineering, HVAC, plumbing, electricity, drafting, accounting, or similar or commensurate experience.
• Training or certification in building automation, work order and inventory software and/or security systems a plus.

Certifications/Licensure

• Maintain a valid Iowa Driver’s License.
• No reckless driving, driving under the influence convictions or moving violations.

Experience

• Two years of experience in office management in a maintenance or contractor environment preferred.
• Two years of maintenance department experience preferred.
• Experience with School Dude, Siemens BAS, Woodman, Niagra, etc. preferred.
