Machine Learning Intern

The challenge

The Document Cloud Mobile team is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Machine Learning Intern to join the Document Cloud Mobile Core Development team located in San Jose. The team’s goal is to provide an unrivaled mobile experience for viewing, creating, modifying, signing, and collaborating on PDF documents. The Adobe Document Cloud Mobile team provides document viewing and signing apps for consumer and enterprise users, installed on many millions of devices (iOS and Android). A successful candidate will become a key contributor on a team with high technical standards and attention to detail, working to build highly leveraged, critical systems for all the Document Cloud’s mobile applications.

What you’ll do

• Partner with our Product Owner, Engineering Manager and Data Science team to develop new and innovative systems for the mobile product on real-world big data through leveraging techniques in statistical modeling and machine learning
• Take ownership on resolving assigned work items on time and with a high code quality
• Effectively communicate upwards and laterally regarding work estimates, work progress, blockers, issues and feedback within the agile Scrum team

What you need to succeed

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Science or equivalent with a strong background in statistics.
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Familiar with scripting languages and packages such as Python, R, with Pandas, Scikit-learn and CRAN packages
• Experience with Machine Learning, regression modeling, forecasting and time series analysis
• Experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, Hive and Spark is a plus
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and architecture with languages like Java or C++
• A highly self-motivated results driven individual comfortable with delivering software in an Agile development environment
• Basic understanding or experience with common bug, version control and build systems like JIRA, Jenkins and GIT
