LOB Consumer Credit Risk Specialist

Position Overview

As a LOB Consumer Credit Specialist within PNC’s Retail Lending organization, you will be based in Tyson Corner VA, Charlotte NC, Washington DC, Wilmington DE or Pittsburgh PA.

Job Profile

  • Reviews activities associated with applicable business segment, including the credit approval process, policy and procedural compliance and portfolio risk management, credit monitoring, and reporting.
  • Reviews the extension of credit, including overdrafts, for clients of varying degrees of complexity within prescribed approval authorities.
  • Ensures that credit facilities have been appropriately structured, underwritten and approved within the context of credit policies. Monitors proper execution of scorecards within parameters and supports scorecard-related validation, testing and maintenance activities.
  • May direct and assess analytic activities of partners to ensure understanding of portfolio issues, trends and root causes in order to manage credit portfolios effectively. Monitors follow-up and reviews output to inform decision-making. Interacts with clients as necessary to perform due diligence and support client relationship credit exposure strategy.
  • Monitors risk in assigned credit portfolios by reviewing relevant reporting and assessing trends. May request ad hoc analytics and reporting. Identifies economic, regulatory and other trends affecting borrowers and helps incorporate this information into the assessment of the borrowers.

  • Knowledge of economic and financial principles/theories and ability to apply them to risk management, measurement, monitoring, and reporting.

Credit Risk – Working Experience

  • Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques used to determine the degree of credit risk in a given transaction or customer relationship; ability to assess, rate and manage exposure to credit risk.

Problem Solving – Extensive Experience

  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Regulatory Environment – Financial Services – Working Experience

  • Knowledge of and ability to help an organization adapt to applicable federal, state, local, and company-specific regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting business practices.

Financial Statement Analysis – Working Experience

  • Knowledge of tools, techniques, and practices, and ability to analyze and determine the credit-worthiness of a business enterprise through its financial statements.

Credit Analysis and Verification – Extensive Experience

  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques and practices for determining the credit-worthiness of an applicant.

Quantitative Techniques – Extensive Experience

  • Knowledge of and ability to use quantitative tools and techniques to measure and analyze risks.

Required Education and Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
