Linux Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

This is a temporary position through government contract end August 2017.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform Red Hat Enterprise LINUX 6.x/7.x Administration in High Performance Cluster Environment.

• Installation of IAVA software patches for RED HAT Enterprise Linux 6.x/7.x and VMware 5.5.

• Maintain security patches, IAVAs, STIGS, and updates for all systems; review system, security, and application logs to identify and remediate system issues.

• Support FORTRAN, Python, C, MPI scientific parallel base applications running on High Performance Cluster servers.

Job Qualifications:

• Experience being responsible for the technical administration of a server-based computer system and leading groups of system administrators and other technical support teams as a senior level system administrator.

• Experience administering related systems, including security, communications, software applications, electronic mail, bulletin boards, printing services, outside communication links, licensing, and any other initial troubleshooting.

• Experience maintaining server management records.

• Working experience with RedHat 6.x/7.x, Network Information Servcie (NIS), LDAP, RedHat SELinux, and RedHat KickStart.

• Well versed in Korn, Shell, and Bash scripting.

• 5+ years of experience demonstrating technical skill, knowledge, expertise and proficiency with the following areas:

• Deploying, designing, optimizing, and maintaining the following RedHat components: DNS, DHCP, FTP, TCP/UDP, IP ROUTING, SSH/SFTP/SCP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, SMTP, NIS, YUM/RPM, SAN/NAS and Virtualization.

• High level of expertise with Patch Management software such as RedHat Satellite, and administrative tools such as, PowerShell cmdlets, scripting Microsoft snap-ins and pstools.

Must Have Certifications: Security+, RHCE or equivalent RedHat Certification
