Our teams release software to production multiple times a day and measure how our applications perform so we can keep improving our features and our underlying platform. We craft the features of the Things To Do tab, where suppliers maintain content management, pricing, and notification tools for these tools and services. As for engineering, we solve problems of scale and utilize cutting edge, open-source technologies. You will have a unique opportunity to join the largest online travel agency in the world, and help shape the future of the top Local Expert initiatives within the Expedia Worldwide Engineering organization. Responsibilities: We partner with internal customers to understand their business and technology requirements. Your collaboration efforts will design, plan, and implement infrastructure solutions. You will assist in-house product teams with regularly scheduled builds, deployments, support tickets and hot fixes as needed. Develop best practices, operational procedures and design documentation including change controls. You will collaborate with team members to review current systems and make technical/process recommendations for improving efficiency. You will join with our 24 x 7 x 365 NOC in support of Incident Management to minimize the impact of outages. You will author user documentation and training materials. Additional Job Info:

Installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server, client and cloud based environments.

Maintains systems, applications, and networks to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.

Works closely with internal non-technical business teams in offline and online business.

Desires to stay ahead with relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.

Function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer oriented team and perform effectively as an independent producer under broad management direction.

On-call responsibility.

5-10% travel may be required.

Qualifications:
5+ years of experience supporting eCommerce sites

Requires a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience

Intermediate Windows Server family of products and SQL

Intermediate LAMP stack, Red Hat OS

Intermediate Cloud Computing, RackSpace, AWS, Azure etc.

Familiar with Automated deployment tools, Jenkins, Chef, Bash

Sound understanding of relational databases, PC architecture, and networking fundamentals

Understanding of monitoring concepts and usage of various monitoring tools, Zabbix, SCOM

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Strong customer service focus

Experience working in a team-centric, collaborative environment

Server or network administration a plus

ITIL familiarity or certification a plus
