System Administrator Duties and Responsibilities

DHI Telecom Group is accepting resumes for an open System Administrator position in Houston, TX.The system administrator will be responsible for all server and storage infrastructure in DHI globally.The system administrator will also act as mentor to other GOC and NOC staff as well as providing technical guidance for infrastructure improvements and introducing further automation of repetitive management tasks into the server environment.

System Administrator Required Skills

• System administrator with at least 3 years’ experience with Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, and/or Debian
• A strong desire to learn new things and continually improve yourself and your team with a can do anything mentality
• Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring,documentation, administration and architecture of critical Linux and Windows based systems in VMWare and on physical servers
• Strong knowledge of system security and overall IT security methodologies
• Strong knowledge on installation, configuration, and management of MySQL databases
• Strong knowledge VMWare ESXi to include administration of clustered servers and external storage
• Strong knowledge on Windows servers as stand-alone or in a Windows AD environment
• BASH shell and Perl scripting (PHP, Unlang and other languages a plus)
• Working with SSL certificates under Apache, java keystores, and general SSL management
• Experience troubleshooting VPNs, PPTP, OpenVPN
• Experience with complex routing inside of Linux systems include IPSEC setup and management
• Managing/configuring Samba
• Experience managing/configuring DNS (BIND and Windows) and DHCP
• Experience with video encoding for IPTV services

System Administrator Experience in these areas are a plus:

• RHCSA or other current industry certifications
• Experience with RADIUS systems, Cisco ACS and ClearPass Policy Manager
• Experience managing squid (or other brand) caching servers
• Experience managing and writing probes for InterMapper monitoring software
• Experience working with SNMP and MIBs
• Experience with RANCID software
• Knowledge of source control systems like Subversion, CVS, and Git
• Knowledge of Joomla
