Library Associate

Performs paraprofessional library work in providing reference, information, and material loan services to customers. Performs other related duties as required.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE CURRENT OPENING:
The current full-time opening requires working a variety of eight hour work shifts including days, weekends, and nights. Please note the Library schedule and hours of operation.

Monday – Thursday – 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Friday – Saturday – 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Sunday – 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

To be considered for a part-time Library Associate position, you must fill out the application for the part-time position as well.

Essential Functions are the functions that the individual holding the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation. REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree; or two years of college (60 semester credits) and two years of reference and referral library services experience plus two courses in library-related classes; or a Certificate in Urban Library Services or equivalent certification and one-year of library services experience.

Some of the positions in this classification will be required to read, write, and speak fluently in a language other than English, as designated in the job announcement.

Assessment: Training and Experience

The assessment for this position is the Supplemental Questionnaire within the application in which you are asked to describe your education, training, and experience in areas related to this position.

Step 1: Be sure to provide complete and detailed information regarding your education, experience and training in the listed areas. This information is subject to verification from current/former employers. You must submit your completed application and supplemental questionnaire by the application deadline.

Step 2: Subject Matter experts will evaluate your answers to the questions. You must receive a score of 75% or higher to pass the evaluation and be considered for the position. Those who pass will be placed on an eligible list and all will be notified of their status.

The person(s) evaluating your supplemental questionnaire does not have access to your resume and will only know the information about you that you document in these questions.
