Lead Software Developer (.NET)

Full Time, Direct Hire. Web and Mobile App development using ASP.NET MVC, Angular, Xamarin

This is a full-time, permanent on-site position in our Naperville, IL office.

Black Line Consulting is looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Software Consulting business. Our company specializes in building and maintaining software systems for clients in the Chicagoland SMB market. This role is for a full-stack developer. Our preferred stack for new development is Microsoft web technologies including C# with MVC, Entity Framework, and AngularJS. Mobile development experience using Xamarin or native apps is a great plus.

Black Line is a Chicagoland software development and IT services company headquartered in Naperville Illinois. We service hundreds of clients providing custom software development, database development and mobile app development. Black Line also designs and develops complex integration between applications using advanced APIs and services.

In this role you will be exposed to many technologies, programming languages and be mentored by other passionate engineers with years of development experience. General technical knowledge, familiarity with many languages, and experience using and administering other operating systems is highly valued. This role involves occasional local travel(within a few hours drive of the office) and frequent interaction with clients. Communication skills, including the ability to professionally articulate complicated technical systems to clients is essential.

Job Duties:

• Aid in the design and development of web-based business solutions
  
• Aid in the design, development, and support of relational database systems
  
• Aid in the design, development and support of mobile applications on Apple and Android platforms
  
• Aid in the testing and implementation of business solutions
  
• Troubleshoot business application issues and recommend solutions
  
• Troubleshoot system integration issues and recommend solutions
  
• Aid in the support of client systems remotely or on-site
  
• Create and maintain positive customer relationships
  
• Prepare formal recommendations and documenting findings

Requirements:
Minimum:

• At least two years professional experience as a Software Developer.
  
• Some knowledge of C#.
  
• Experience using an MVC framework, with preference to Java and Microsoft MVC stacks.
  
• Solid Web Development skills. HTML/CSS/JS, JQuery
  
• Strong understanding of SQL
  
• Deep understanding of OOP design principles and basics of data structure efficiency analysis(don’t worry no quizzes).
  
• Experience using an enterprise grade IDE like Visual Studio/Eclipse/IntelliJ
  
• Bachelors/MS of Computer Science is strongly preferred for candidates with less than five years professional experience in Software Development.

Preferred:

• 3-5 Years experience developing software.
  
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft and other web technologies. Entity Framework, MVC, TypeScript, IIS, nginx, T-SQL.
  
• Deep knowledge of web and mobile UI development frameworks. Examples: Bootstrap, Ionic, Xamarin, Foundation, etc..
  
• Experience using reporting frameworks (such as SSRS, Crystal Reports or similar).
  
• Experience with a major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCC, DO, SoftLayer, etc.)
  
• Coursework or deep understanding of database structures.
