Lead Front-End Software Engineer

WHO YOU ARE:

Our existing LifeDojo platform has proven to be highly engaging and successful in driving long-term health behavior change. We see this as just the beginning. To take our technology solution to the next level we are seeking a lead front-end developer who will lead the development of new features and enhancements of the LifeDojo software.

As a lead engineer and early member of the technology team, the selected candidate will be responsible for architecting and coding our front-end, designing and implementing scalable and highly performant software solutions, managing scrum teams, writing clean and maintainable code, performing code reviews, and mentoring junior software engineers.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on coder, customer-oriented, work to fully understand the impact that LifeDojo programs have on our users’ lives, and will obsess over UX and UI to deliver a world-class experience that delights the end-user.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience using Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery
• 2+ years of experience using React/Redux, and some experience with React Native and iOS or Android development
• 2+ years in a senior technical role, and experienced in leading scrum teams
• You’re passionate about seeking new technologies, methods and tools to make great websites faster and better, both on the front-end and back-end
• Knowledge of best practices & patterns for large scale web applications
• Experience building responsive and cross-browser compatible web applications with a strong UI focus
• Experienced in a collaborative fast paced agile development environment
• Comfortable getting scrappy and willing to help in any way that’s necessary
• Excellent communication skills; superior organizational and analytical skills
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other Technical Discipline or equivalent professional experience

BONUS SKILLS:

• Experience with the development of enterprise SaaS products
• Knowledge of Python and experience with Django or comparable server-side web platforms
• Experience with test-driven development
• Experience in visual design
