Lead Financial Analyst

The Lead Financial Analyst position plays a key role in coordinating the financial reporting and analysis related to the NBA teams. This person will work with other Team Finance members in acting as a key point of contact for team financial representatives, to assist in various reporting and financial processes to the teams.

Major Responsibilities:

• Manage Combined Financial Statements "CFS" audit process, acting as a liaison between team financial representatives and external auditors. This process is the basis for determining revenue sharing among the 30 teams and includes incorporation of League financials.
• Assist in the quarterly combined financial statement projection vetting process, which includes collecting team projection data for a rolling three-year period.
• Work with corporate finance group on benchmarking analyses relating to teams’ projection submissions, and provide added value insights to team and league personnel.
• Work with Financial Analysts to gather League playoff expenses to determine the Team share of distributions or billings
• Assist in the preparation of the year-end accounting memo to be distributed to all Teams. This memo provides guidance relating to how teams account for League operations, including distributions, tax, benefits, and insurance.
• Assist with gate receipt reporting for Team/League distribution on a weekly basis and ensure that all 30 teams are submitting their respective data timely and consistent with reporting requirements.
• Coordinate various league deliverables such as team billing requisitions, communications to teams, and Team Finance Net website updates.

Required Experience & Knowledge:

• 7-10 years of experience
• Strong project management and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail
• Strong presentation and analytical skills

Educational Background Required:

• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance preferred)
• CPA preferred
