Job Summary:
The Controls Engineering Web Developer with strong Javascript skills will be responsible for developing customer-facing home automation web services, mobile platform integration (IOS, Android), and interfacing with wireless automation devices to enable customers to remotely manage their building from web pages or mobile apps.

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

Software Construction – Design and code software solutions to meet key quality and functional requirements. Understand construction fundamentals; minimize complexity, anticipate change, plan for verification.
Make appropriate use of planning, modeling, reuse and measurement.

Architecture – Provide experience in partitioning software products and families of software products into distinct components in order to meet business and engineering goals such as customer usability, component reusability, consistency, extensibility and maintainability.
Drive trade-offs between possible approaches and turn into strategies that guide design and implementation by development teams.

Peer Reviews and Inspections – Knowledge and use of formal inspection methods.
Active participation in design reviews and mentoring of peers in design best practices.

Requirements Analysis – Work with Product Management to define release scope and design alternatives. Understand fundamentals of requirements analysis, elaboration of system requirements to software requirements, provide feedback in areas such as completeness, practicality, measurability and testability.

Task Estimation – Prepare accurate schedules for all project assignments and activities.

Requirements:
* 3+ years web software development experience using HTML, CSS, and Javascript

* Experience with Javascript frameworks

* Strong background with unit testing, and refactoring

* Experience with software revision control systems (Subversion or Git)

* Excellent communication skills

* Experience with software design and analysis techniques and tools

* Experience with Agile development methodologies

Desired Skills/Experience:
* Experience with React

*
Experience with Ruby on Rails
(nice to have not mandatory)

* Experience with Go
