The job: Junior Web Developer

Location: Phoenix, AZ

We are seeking a high energy, self driven WordPress PHP Developer to come join the fastest growing independent sports network on the Internet (and now we deliver entertainment and lifestyle content too!).

In this role you will:

• Help design, implement, and maintain high-volume sports products using multiple languages including but not limited to: PHP, JS, MySQL, CSS3, HTML5
• Report to the VP of Technology, who will be your managing team member. At FanSided you work with us, not for us.
• You will learn to work on PHP WordPress sites, MVC Frameworks (FanSided API), mobile apps, daily dynamic email newsletter, and possibly some server admin and performance tweaking (as your skills allow).
• Work in a lean, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment that reaches millions of website visitors!!
• Work on a flexible schedule, with 4 days in the office in North Scottsdale and 1 remote day per week. (Some work while traveling is allowed too!)
• Work in a team, using Agile tools and training provided to you to communicate and organize your tasks, projects, and code.

You will be responsible for:

• Creating elegant UI experiences with CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery that are backwards compatible, responsive, and accessible
• Implementing designs, and maintaining high-volume products using multiple languages
• Providing support to users. Rapidly fixing bugs and solving problems.
• Working directly with VP of Technology and other members of the development team to develop a plan of attack and agree on a timeline for your projects
• Learning to develop locally using tools like Vagrant, VVV, Docker, PHPstorm, GIT, Terminal CLI, and other new technologies.
• Engineering cool tools for writers and readers to use, and more!
