Junior Trader

Junior Coffee Traders work directly with specialty roasters in the United States offering Olam Specialty Coffee inventory via direct contact and through our online sales platform (oMarket). The candidate filling this position is responsible for maintaining relationships with account contacts, selling to assigned accounts and achieving sales and revenue targets set by the company.

Essential Functions:

• Daily completion of assigned customer orders in compliance with the company processes and procedures
• Managing the client database keeping daily interactions, future needs, samples sent and past sales up to date
• Participate in daily coffee tastings/evaluations, becoming familiar with Olam Specialty Coffee products.
• Coordinating periodic customer visits
• Working directly with customers to evaluate needs, make recommendations, troubleshoot challenges
• Work in close coordination with team members from logistics, purchasing, QA and finance on a daily basis

  Marginal Functions:
  

• Participating in the development and creation of marketing materials (blog posts, ad campaigns, company promotional materials, website support content, social media support)
• Attending industry trade shows

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  

  Minimum:
  

• 3-5 years working knowledge and experience in the Specialty Coffee Industry (Roasting, Barista, Mill, Trading or Quality Control)
• Type 60 words/min
• Detail oriented, ability to confidently work with large spreadsheets and make frequent math calculations
• Outgoing and candidate able phone manner
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook.Strong Excel skills preferred.
• Proficient in coffee cupping , grading and quality evaluation. Q Grader License preferred
• Knowledge of SCAA Cupping protocols and associated lab equipment
• Spanish, Portuguese or other 2 nd language is a plus
• College Degree, required

Reporting : The candidate will be administratively and functionally reporting to the Sales Manager.
