Junior Systems Administrator Opportunity

TQI Solutions Inc. has an immediate need for a Junior Systems Admin interested in a permanent, direct hire opportunity located at the Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Naval Station in Norfolk, VA. This position will be expected provide installation, configuration, and testing expertise in support of information assurance programs and control guidelines as well as systems administration support in a classified environment.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Responsible for the analysis of IAVA’s/CTO’s and the implementation of requirements through group policy and PowerShell
• Provide support for daily operations including troubleshooting, user management, file system management, log analysis and supporting documentation
• Provide installation, configuration, and testing expertise in support of information assurance programs and control guidelines
• Monitor system performance and propose software updates or parameter changes to enhance system performance and/or security
• Maintain required operating system security on all centralized Windows machines
• Setup administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software and allocate mass storage space
• Follow procedures and guidelines to install, patch, configure, customize, troubleshoot, upgrade, integrate, secure and maintain systems
• Support security remediation on Windows servers, including applicable research of vulnerability remediation, analyzing security scan results, baselining servers to security templates and performing impact analysis of resultant system configuration changes

Experience Requirements :

• Experience managing small/medium size Windows domains utilizing Windows Server 2012 to include Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WDS, Certificate Services, WSUS and Server Core
• Experience utilizing Windows and 3rd party applications for automated system deployments
• Adept in MS Windows system administration related tasks
• Basic understanding of Active Directory, TCP/IP networking and DNS
• Knowledgeable in the implementation and operation of centrally managed Host Based Security System and Data-At-Rest encryption solutions
• Experience/exposure with VMWare vSphere ESXi, vSAN and Microsoft Hyper-V
• Bachelor’s Degree or IT related Certificate plus 2 years of experience is preferred
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification is required
• Must possess – or be able to obtain – and maintain a Secret level clearance
• Familiarity with U.S. Navy processes and procedures is highly desired
• Familiarity with securing servers to meet government standards (FISMA, NIST)
• Demonstrated ability to leverage appropriate technical tools to perform day-to-day administration tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration for Windows servers
