Job Description

Our Client has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer. They are looking for a seasoned, experienced professional with a proficient understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories and expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. Our Client’s employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Performs software requirements analysis, participates in research, designs, develops and tests software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancing existing applications, systems or embedded products

Codes, tests, integrates and documents software solutions

Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the development of complex software and architectures

Participates in internal review of software components and systems

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

Candidate should have an understanding of real-time embedded software programming, including object oriented modeling experience. Knowledge of Java, C or C++ required. Candidate should have an understanding of all aspects of the project lifecycle, managing team roles and responsibilities, and delivery of the final system.

Proficient knowledge of software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect reporting and scripting

Someone who is capable of providing technical leadership to an organization

Proficient ability to use the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products

Programming skills in C, C++, Java

Experience in SQL

Understanding of Object-oriented techniques, including modeling

Experience with the software development lifecycle to include requirements definition and unit testing

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
