Our Opportunity:

The eArchive team is diverse group of Software Developers responsible for developing and supporting OnDemand archival system for the books and records of Schwab’s various lines of business. We have an opening for a software development position that will design, develop & enhance our current system, as well as future integration and development. We are looking for an individual that has a lot of curiosity, passion about technology, is driven to learn new things, and is always looking to improve process.

What you’ll do:

We are looking for a versatile Software Application Developer whose role will be distributed across all phases of the SDLC – from early inception solutioning through to final solution implementation and support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with our business partners to identify, define, and document business/technical requirements
  • Existing application and infrastructure change impact analysis
  • Software design development and review sizing and estimates development and review
  • Ensure timely delivery of technical project and release deliverables
  • Working with peer and partner technical and business teams
  • Monitor production support queues, troubleshoot production issues
  • Must have a passion for problem solving, have the ability to quickly learn new concepts, and be able to interact with all levels of technical and business
  • Must be able to succeed in a high stress and challenging environment

What you have:

  • Experience with software design, development, and implementation
  • General knowledge and understanding of server operating systems as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information systems or formal technical training
  • General knowledge of core infrastructure services such as DNS, NAS, SAN, Networking, SMTP, NAC, Active Directory, GPOs, and DHCP
  • High skill with of most UNIX/Windows server commands/utilities
  • Experience developing, documenting, and communication system designs
  • Experience with Linux and Windows system administration
  • Experience with Web Services in a distributed systems environment
  • Experience with Java

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Python, PERL, C++, C#
