TQI Solutions Inc. has an immediate need for a Junior Network Engineer interested in a permanent, direct hire opportunity located at the Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Naval Station in Norfolk, VA. This position will be expected provide installation, configuration, and testing expertise in support of information assurance programs and control guidelines as well as Cisco network support in a classified environment

Position responsibilities :

• Candidate will be responsible for supporting the build-out, configuration, implementation and maintenance of a new Cisco based network in a classified environment
• Perform analysis of IAVA’s/CTO’s and the implementation of requirements through NMS and configuration management
• Maintain, troubleshoot and support network hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and system management systems
• Assist users to resolve network hardware and/or software problems
• Provide quick response to ensure maximum uptime of all users and systems
• Responsible for configuration of Cisco switches, routers and firewalls
• Analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve network outages and network related issues
• Install/Configure networking systems as directed
• Ensure adherence to established standards, tools, processes, policies and procedures
• Maintain quality service by adhering to organizational standards
• Provide Tier 1 / Tier 2 engineering support
• Maintain system documentation
• Monitor hardware to ensure it is properly maintained

Required Experience / Qualifications :

• Experience with Cisco switches and routers including IOS, routing, ACL’s, WAN troubleshooting and application/OS LAN/WAN troubleshooting
• Experience with 1 or more of the following: routing protocols, policy based routing, traffic shaping, border gateway protocols, tunneling IP Security, network address translations, network security, firewall contexts, load balancing, latency, data throughput, WAN acceleration, etc.
• Working knowledge of Junos OS and experience with Juniper SSG firewalls
• Ability to troubleshoot network outages and resolve issues through Layer 7
• Ability to manage integrations and deployments with the Navy Enterprise Network contractor, service providers and upper Echelons
• Experience with What’s Up Gold, Aruba Wireless solutions, IDS/IPS, Cisco ISE, Solarwinds, and/or copper, fiber network test equipment
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification is required
• Must possess – or be able to obtain – and maintain a Secret level clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree or IT related Certificate plus two years of experience
• Familiarity with U.S. Navy processes and procedures is desired
