Junior Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson

We have a position available for a Junior Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson with strong skills in 3D CAD software. The ideal candidate will have experience working collaboratively through design, engineering, and manufacturing issues in a hands-on product development and manufacturing environment.

Along with engineering duties, this position will be responsible for working with in-house Design and Development Team to conceptualize, detail, prototype and eventually deliver a fully realized product. This opportunity also entails working closely with in-house Manufacturing Engineering Team transferring product development knowledge and fulfilling manufacturing and assembly needs.

The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator, highly organized, have the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and bring positive energy to a team. You will be working with a cross-departmental team of dedicated professionals who share the company’s passion for designing and manufacturing products that enhance public spaces throughout the world. The position will be responsible for mechanical design, detailing, the production of complete product package documentation, and communicating project status.

Position requirements include:

• Four-year degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical Preferred)

• Proficiency in 3D modeling, preferably SolidWorks

• Interest in lighting design/engineering

• Compelling interest in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement

• Familiarity with precision metal fabrication, metal casting, composites, woodworking and their respective associated tolerances

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

This is an entry level role with current/recent graduates preferred. Only those with less than 2 years of experience will be considered.
