Junior Linux DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an eager Linux sys admin or DevOps engineer with a passion for automation to work closely with a Sr. DevOps engineer and help us further automate the processes of provisioning, managing, patching, tuning, trouble-shooting and securing our Linux infrastructures. You will be utilizing the latest and greatest technologies to streamline our platform while ensuring that performance and consistency of services are the highest priority. You’ll be collaborating closely with Windows DevOps engineers and with other departments.

Requirements

Bachelors / Associates Degree in CS or Engineering

2+ years’ experience supporting Linux servers and environments, RedHat/CentOS experience preferred

1+ year of experience working with a configuration management platform – SaltStack, chef, puppet, etc.

2+ year of experience with administrative use of scripting such as BASH, Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, and SQL scripting languages

Hand-on experience with security benchmarks and system hardening

1+ years supporting complex, distributed applications

Proven ability in quickly diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving software / system related problems Excellent problem solving skills

Proficient in using Linux tools to manipulate data, perform upgrades / patches, monitor health and configure systems

Good communication skills both written and verbal

Self-motivated with good decision-making abilities
