JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Junior Java Developer

REPORTING TO: Manager of Software Development

JOB SUMMARY:
This position requires an individual with 2-3 years of experience in Java development. The Java Developer position requires working in a dynamic technical team environment with some supervision, reporting to the Manager of Software Development. The individual will be responsible for the maintenance and development of a J2EE application building JSPs, Java components, services and data access components all under the Struts MVC Framework/Architecture. Candidate will also help in development support and operations that include maintenance of scheduled jobs, shell scripting, production support tickets, application reports and third party software in addition to the maintenance of deployment procedures and guidelines. Candidate must have great communication skills, documentation skills and a strong desire to learn and continuing education.

RESPONSABILITIES:
Plan, process and perform all jobs in an efficient manner with some assistance from the manager and senior Java developer.

Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements.

Design and develop user interfaces to company applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; complete programming using languages and software products; design and conduct tests.

Integrate applications by collaborating in database architecture design and studying to establish connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.

Complete applications development by contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems.

Support users by developing documentation, responding to support tickets and participating in requirements gathering sessions.

Update job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Java Struts Framework, HTML, CSS, Javascript, ,Jquery, XML, JSPs, JAX-RS,EJB, WebSphere/JBoss EAP, Spring Batch

Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL

Experience with enterprise ETL tools like SSIS, DataStage or Informatica

Knowledge of Crystal Reports development

High understanding of Cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)

Experience with Unix and Shell scripting languages

Be familiar with emerging technologies and industry trends

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Familiarity with UML modeling with ability to create use cases, object diagrams, class diagrams and sequence diagrams

Good understanding of application security concepts and methodologies

Good understanding of testing methodologies

Experience in complete software development life cycle implementations.

College degree required.
