Junior Java Developer

Job brief

We are seeking a Junior Java Developer to help build a CRM web application, using our development playbook and web services, for Arches’ Cloud-based marketing software KEYSTONE. The platform is a CRM + CMS built on top of REST Web Services and open source technologies to support life science companies and healthcare providers.

The job will be a 2-3 week assignment with an opportunity to hire full-time. Your assignment will be to reference our development playbook and build the assigned web CRM application. In addition, you will be expected to provide feedback with regards to the ease of usage of the playbook and API guidelines.

On a daily basis, you will work on Java/J2EE application, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, develop cron jobs and ETL applications, and assist our team with functional quality assurance of our platform and products.

Responsibilities

• Review the documentation associated with the platform and identify gaps, if any, in the overall structure of it as well in the REST API client provided.
• Development of the assigned CRM web application using the playbook as a reference and the REST API client for the platform.
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Write well designed, testable, and efficient code.
• Support with continuous improvement by investigating alternative methodologies and technologies, and presenting these for review.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
• Hands on development and consumption of REST API.
• Working experience in Java development and know-how of working with relational databases
• Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (i.e. Spring MVC, Struts).
• Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Experience with the Spring Framework.
• Experience with test-driven development, writing test cases, and doing functional QA.
