Junior Front End Developer

Full-Time Salary/Exempt

Wantable is seeking a Junior Front-End Developer to join our young, up and coming startup team. As with any developer, they should strive for high code quality and always be learning and improving. They should be efficient and semi-autonomous while building software solutions that benefit the company. They should have effective in-person and electronic communication skills while using the utilities set before them. This individual should not only be comfortable with receiving constructive feedback, but should also be willing to provide their own.

The job duties will include: * Assists in the design, coding, testing, and maintenance of in-house software solutions.

  • Understands and executes the software development life cycles and processes at Wantable.
  • Establishes and meets project deadlines.
  • Creating documentation on Wantable front-end standards, and helping to maintain the Wantable pattern-library.
  • Adheres to and develops coding standards set forth by other developers.
  • Interface with designers, developers, and business personnel to create and implement UI/UX solutions.

Required Skills / Qualifications: * Quick learning.

  • Experience in front-end development HTML/CSS, responsive web, etc.
  • Interest in modern web development; CSS/HTML/Javascript preprocessors, AngularJS, etc.

Brownie Points * Basic understanding of BEM css naming conventions and Atomic Design principles.

  • Has front-end resources they rely upon (e.g. newsletters, websites).
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Knows what a pattern-library/style-guide is.
  • Likes coding in their free time.

Required Skills

Experience with a modern JavaScript MVC framework (Angular, React, Ember) is a plus.

Understanding of cross-platform display issues.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with distributed teams; passion for design and an eye for detail.
