Junior Developer

BluePay Processing is looking for talented individuals to help advance our production support needs. The position will be responsible for developing bug fixes and feature enhancements for our custom-developed applications that interface with our payment gateway. You will receive exposure to a multitude of different programming languages and technologies. These applications integrate directly with many existing ERPs, CRMs, and ecommerce platforms.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) OR equivalent experience required. Ecommerce web development and/or REST API experience is a huge plus. Minimum of 1 year of experience.

The position is based at our Chicago West Loop location.

Desired Skills:

• Object-oriented design using languages such as PHP, C#, Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, Apex, etc
• Experience with using both UNIX-based and Windows operating systems
• Experience with or a basic knowledge of the following: JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Apache, RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL), MVC Architecture, Source Control (Git/GitHub)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coding, testing, and debugging of applications
• Creating and maintaining Technical documentation
• Working with end-users to define requirements
• Taking responsibility and ownership of the code you write
• Maintaining secure coding practices at all times
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects
• Multi-tasking, prioritization, and escalation skills
• Willingness to learn and take on unfamiliar products and technologies
