Purpose

The Junior Data Analyst is a key role in supporting organizational readiness, performance and the overall success of services within the company. This is an exciting and challenging role that directly supports the organization’s Business Intelligence function through monitoring of business unit performance, assessing opportunities for process improvement and supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong working knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, understands processes, policies and guidelines for data management. The candidate must exhibit strong analytic and problem-solving abilities as well as strong communication and presentation skills that enable them to lead internal and client discussions to drive information-based decisions to be made.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary roles of the Junior Data Analyst fall into two broad categories:

  • Reporting and analytics
    • Deliver contractual reporting requirements in adherence to the outlined schedule, format and delivery method
    • Filter and “clean” data for client delivery by identifying data gaps
    • Support ad hoc reporting based on client and internal business needs while meeting an agreed upon deadline in order to set clear expectations
    • Analyze data to ensure accurate data is being presented to internal and external teams
    • Formats visual output of data analysis for internal/external customer review
  • Tracking business unit performance
    • Interpret data, analyze results to proactively provide performance feedback to business units within the organization
    • Assist in preparing quarterly business reviews for clients
    • Understand business unit workflow to find opportunities to improve the collection of data so that internal groups are not negatively impacted with additional steps and can better serve the needs of patients and clients
    • Troubleshoot with internal groups if accurate data is not being collected or captured
    • Assist in testing of automated reporting processes across the organization so that efficiencies are achieved

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field, computer science, business, or equivalent experience related to healthcare operations
    • 1-3 years of previous experience in healthcare; operations experience preferred

    Critical Skills:

    • Demonstrated efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ensure compliance of standards in developing programs
    • Exceptional communication skills and keen attention to detail
    • Experience working with internal and external customers
    • Demonstrated strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
