About The Role

APMEX is seeking a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst with aptitude for transforming data into valuable business insights. This role will work closely with the rest of the Business Intelligence team to enable our partners in Accounting, Marketing, Operations, Merchandising and Sales to make effective data-driven decisions. Understanding the effectiveness and ROI across all departmental activities is essential to our business.

A Day in the life of a Jr. Business Intelligence Analyst:
  • Combining data from a variety of tools to create the insights our stakeholders need
  • Help develop and improve methods for analyzing data sets and processes
  • Work with a variety of proprietary, open source, and industry-specific tools to organize and analyze data

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical field

Experience:
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel (particularly with the use of pivot tables, lookups, functions, charts and tables) and PowerPoint
  • Prefer strong SQL programming skills for querying and manipulation of data from large databases
  • Ability to create impactful presentations with data

Bonus
:
  • Prefer strong SQL programming skills for querying and manipulation of data from large databases
  • Experience with Web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Omniture, Webrends, CoreMetrics, etc.
  • Familiarity with website testing and optimization tools such as Optimizely, Monetate, etc.
  • Experience with specialized visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc)
  • Experience statistical programming languages such as R or Python
