Jr. Web Developer

NETE is seeking a highly motivated, flexible, organized, and detail oriented Junior Web Developer to join our great team.

Since 1999, NETE provides strategic management consulting, business systems development and integration, Web design and technology solutions, and managed outsourcing services to commercial companies and federal government agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop technical architecture of internet web sites including scripting and user interface design.
• Refresh internet web site content to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information and images.
• Develop modifications or enhancements to existing internet web programs.
• Collaborate with back-end developers and other team members as needed.
• Create cross browser, standard-compliant HTML and CSS code.
• Perform the implementation of provided designs in a timely manner.
• Ensure that the layout of the content is accessible and logical; recommend improvements if necessary.
• Make use of JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery coding to enrich the existing web pages/web apps.
• Must be self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies.
• Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet aggressive deadlines
• Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making capabilities.
• Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Location: McLean, VA

At least 2+ years of experience creating table-less, standards-compliant across browser HTML code.

At least 2 years of experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.

At least 2 years of experience with Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver.

Some experience with Ruby, Python, and PHP a plus.

Some experience with Agile development experience, a plus.

Basic knowledge of usability & 508 compliancy.

Must have a demonstrated portfolio of work.

Great customer service and interfacing with customers required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline; or Master’s degree.
