Jr. Web Developer

Job Description

We are looking for an eager individual to fulfil a Junior Web Developer position. The candidate will be responsible for the coding, innovative design and layout within an existing, high volume retail eCommerce environment.

We are looking for someone who can improve user interface and overall customer experience for our websites and applications, including overall navigation flow, layout and creation of individual graphic elements from concept to fruition. The responsibilities span over 3 brands with their corresponding eCommerce and blog websites covering multiple products and categories. THIS IS AN ON-SITE OPPORTUNITY; REMOTE WORK IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION.

Projects & Duties

• Design and develop web page layouts, landing pages and user flows following existing web standards and SEO strategies
• Navigate browser dependencies to produce cross-browser compatible HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Improve current user interface to promote superior end user experience
• Implement Responsive Design characteristics to support tablet and mobile development
• Perform automated styling and affects using common libraries
• Code efficient and minimalistic loading for optimum web speed and performance
• Maintain code in existing eCommerce Content Management System
• Other functions as assigned by department manager

Requirements

• Proven working experience in web programming
• Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS/JS
• jQuery

• AJAX
• Bootstrap
• Familiarity and examples with at least one server-side language
• A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
• Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
• Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
• Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process
• Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Relevant Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Organizational skills and deep seeker of learning
• C#, PHP, Objective C, Java
• Ability to handle projects independently and professionally
• Kalio ecommerce platform experience or similar
• SEO technical experience
