Jr. Systems Administrator

Responsible for assisting in and helping, maintain and troubleshoot an enterprise Windows, Linux, and VMware server environment as well as the supporting network infrastructure

  • Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting, and maintenance of an enterprise VMware View virtual desktop environment
  • Responsible for providing second level support and issue escalation
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

    • Manage the design, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, patching and support of all Windows servers, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals
    • Assist in managing and maintaining Office 365 suite of products
    • Assist in the management of Office 365 SharePoint and OneDrive for Business
    • Assist in the management of Microsoft licensing
    • Manage and maintain login scripts and GPO
    • Assist in the management of SQL Server databases
    • Benchmark, analyze, and report on the Windows infrastructure to maintain system scalability, integration, redundancy, performance, and functionality
    • Provide end-user services escalation requiring Windows administrative assistance for help desk services where necessary
    • Manage and maintain backups and data retention
    • This position requires the applicant to be on a rotating on-call schedule

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server products (3+ years)
    • Extensive hands on experience in the administration of Windows Active Directory
    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products
    • Experience with GPOs
    • Experience with Power Shell scripting
    • Experience with backup software and data retention policies
    • Working knowledge of x86 Hardware, especially HP and Dell servers

    Desired Qualifications

    • Microsoft Certified Professional
    • Experience with Windows server 2008 – 2016
    • Experience with Microsoft SQL 2012 – 2016
    • Experience with supporting tools; such as SCCM
    • Experience with backup solutions; such as Commvault
    • Experience with NAS and SAN storage devices
    • Knowledge of Fiber channel and ISCSI
    • Experience with Ethernet networking

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job will have no supervisory responsibilities.
