Jr. Software Developer For Good

Together We Rise, a nonprofit committed to improving the lives of foster children in the US, is seeking a passionate and talented developer to join our team. Since our founding in 2008, we have supported tens of thousands of foster children by providing them with bikes, duffel bags, and other programs to give them a better foster care experience.

This person will work with our team to maintain and create new features for our fundraising platforms so we can help even more kids. This person will also help us build out automated processes to help us cultivate relationships with donors and fundraisers. This is an mid-level position with lots of opportunity to grow and contribute across many facets of our organization. Together We Rise is based in Brea, California, just 15 mins from Disneyland.

Must have at least 2-3 years of experience with similar projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred
• At least 2-3 years of experience working with web based systems
• At least 2-3 years of experience analyizing web applications and api’s using php, MySql, jQuery, Mustache JS, Bootstrap, and MongoDB
• Passionate about making the world a better place through coding

Responsibilities

Web Support

• Drive new features on our core product, as well as maintain and update our existing code.
• Help create automated processes through API’s and our current systems
• Contribute to running A/B tests with our marketing team through pixels
• Update and maintain current API’s in use
• Create and maintain webpages on main website

Programming

• 2 years experience with PHP

• 2 years experience with MySQL
• 2 years experience with Jquery
• 2 years experience with CSS
• experience with Mustache JS
• Bootstrap framework

Server Administration

• Experience with AWS – EC2
• Experience with Route 66 DNS
• Experience with WHM / Cpanel
• Experience with CentOS operating system

API’s in place

• Google Api
• BrainTree Api
• Mailchimp Api

Content Marketing / SEO

• Monitor SEO performance and work with marketing team to resolve technical issues
• Update content provided by marketing team and make improvements as needed
• Stay up to date on fundraising and platform trends and keep the team informed

Big pluses

• Experience with Cpanel, wordpress, api’s, google analytics, and google adwords
• Experience with Zapier

Full-Time Hours

• Monday-Tuesday 9am-5:30pm, Wednesday-Friday 6am-2:30pm
