Candidate must be local to Maryland/Northern Virginia area and able to telecommute over 50% of the time, with the remainder of the work taking place in our Fairfax Office or the Hanover site.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Develop, test, and deploy application software in support of the existing system
• Develop, test and deploy software for integration with external systems
• Maintain, identify and correct bugs in existing Java EE web applications
• Participate in requirements reviews and recommend software solutions
• Work with operations staff to identify and patch bugs and usability issues
• Must have solid Java background with some experience with Python or Django Web Development preferred
• Experience with Web Server Configuration
• Experience with MySQL
• Capability to work both independently and within a collaborative setting
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of configuration management
• MySQL database setup and maintenance
• Proficiency in Multiple OS environments

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S. Computer Science or equivalent training and 2-4 years experience
• Will consider applicants with 6-8 years experience in lieu of degree
• Experience with Java, Python/Django**, Java Servlets, Apache Ant, Maven, and Eclipse
  • ** Will consider candidates who demonstrate a willingness and ability to start to learn Python on their own
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap Framework
• Networking: DNS, DHCP, TCP, Firewalls, SMTP
• Knowledge of testing tools and methodologies
• U.S. Citizenship required in order to comply with government contracts.
• Must be local, no relocation

Clearance Requirements:

• Active Secret or Top Secret, highly desired.
