Jr. Database Administrator

The Jr. Database Administrator serves as a member of the IT Enterprise Operating Systems team and works under the direction of the Assistant Manager for Database Application Support to provide operational and technical support for the Oklahoma State University/A&M Banner ERP Oracle database environment, application software and integrated systems.

Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent’s compensation includes an amount to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:
High School and Four years of related work experience, or two years of postsecondary education and two years of related work experience.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills

– Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

– Ability to work and function within a team environment

– Ability to work on multiple tasks under strict timelines

– Willingness to stay current on new and emerging technologies

– Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred:

Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field of study.

– Working knowledge of relational database concepts

– Working knowledge of SQL, scripting and procedural programming concepts

– Working knowledge of Linux operating system
