Java Web Developer

The nation’s leading Web Services and e-Commerce company is currently seeking a Java Web Developer with Grails experience to help us develop out microservices and build mroe complex services using API’s. Kansas Information Consoritum, LLC, our Topeka based subsidiary of the eGovermnet firm NIC Inc. (NASDAQ: EGOV) helps Kansas government entities web-enable their information services. Our electronic government solutions use technology to increase efficiency, reduce costs and help make government interactions more accessible for everyone through the use of technology.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop complex Internet and e-commerce applications
Maintain existing applications
Work with customers and other staff to help determine project specifications
Ensure that security is designed into all applications developed in-house and procured from outside sources to include meeting the company security standards at minimum
Adhere to Payment Card Industry Data Security requirements on credit card information handling

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Minimum of two years of experience developing WWW applications and Web sites
Minimum 1 year of experience with Java
Minimum of 1 year of UNIX experience
In-depth familiarity with the Internet and exposure to microservices a plus!
Following knowledge a plus: HTML, JDBC, SQL, Groovy/Grails, OOA/OOD, database design, or networking protocols
Knowledge of secure coding methods and procedures
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Self-motivated and creative
Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
