Java Software Engineer

Government Background Investigation will be required to work on project.

Must be authorized to work in the US and a resident of the US for the previous 3 years with no longer than a 90-day absence.

We are now looking for Software Engineer/ Developers with Java/JEE development skills to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana on a U.S. Federal project. As a software engineer on this critical U.S. Environmental & Safety agency project, you will work and collaborate with an elite team enhancing and supporting a complex software system to monitor and preserve the integrity of the environment in the Gulf.

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Develop/ generate new Java code and applications (Java, J2EE, XML, SQL)
• Modify/convert existing code to meet new business needs
• Work closely with client and partner staff on specified methods and procedures, identify problems and technical architecture
• Prepare specifications from which java code will be written.

• Learn new technologies needed

Required Skills:

• Proven track record in software development

• Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures used in computer programming.• software testing processes and procedures experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Preferred candidates will possess:

• at least 2 years of Java development

• experience with JavaScript

• Java Enterprise Edition preferred (JEE, J2EE)

• Experience with Spring, and Apache

• XML and various Web related technologies

• Database Application experience, SQL

• Experience working in an Agile Software Development Environment.
