Role: Java Developer

Location: Woburn, MA

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Must Have

• 2-5 years experience as a full-stack web developer
• Java 1.8
• JavaScript
• AngularJS
• JQuery
• Experience developing Web services

Nice to have:

• AWS (Amazon Web Services)
• String JS
• MuleSoft (integration platform)

Interview Process:

• 30-40 min phone screen with hiring manager
• In person interview

What will they be working on?

• A global application that is used by both internal and external employees
• The application is built inhouse using AWS; uses CSS, HTML5, AngularJS
• The first release will be in 2-3 weeks and will be rolled out to internal users (ie employees)
• Application Overview
• Part 1: Document Management Solution- American Tower has millions of online lease documents (they lease towers), and this will create a better UI and allow users to more easily access these documents
• Part 2: Data Map- creating a site locator solution similar to Google maps so that users can locate the different American Towers. Uses JavaScript and Web Services

SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of Senior Engineers and Leads, the Software Engineer designs and implements the Company’s software and underlying data technologies. The incumbent will assume the technical developer role for large projects, working with senior team member for proper instructions and guidance. The incumbent will work with the latest technology platforms analyze requirements, propose software designs, define standard database designs, and provide production support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Work closely with Architecture team members to provide value to existing systems and processes.
• Develop and maintain key system features
• Work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Work with Architecture team members to develop and maintain new and existing custom application solutions that employ automated build process and DevOps tools.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 6+ years of industry experience or Master’s degree in Computer Science with 4+ years of industry experience is required
• Experience in building web based applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, and Hibernate is required
• Must have experience with: Oracle, DB2, MS SQL or other relational databases and good experience in writing SQL
• A solid understanding of the principles of object oriented design, JEE design patterns is essential
• Experience in writing unit test cases using Junit is required
• Experience with SOAP and REST protocols is required
• Experience working in an agile environment is required.
• Experience in using SOLR, Elastic Search, NoSQL DB (MongoDB, Redis etc.), AWS and CDN cloud services are preferred.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker) is preferred
• Familiarity with various UI frameworks like Angular, React, Ember, and Bootstrap is preferred.
