What will you do as a Digital Engineer I:
Design and develop key e-commerce technology initiatives

Work in an Agile team with developers / engineers, QA and BA’s

Demonstrate a creative and innovation-driven ability to articulate engineering design patterns related to scale, performance, security, and usability

You will implement software using open-source Java solutions with a focus on sophistication and scale.

You will assist the team in adding enhancements to our system, refactoring technical debt, and researching new technologies and frameworks.

Specific relevant technologies you will use include:
Java 8 and Spring 4, including Spring Boot

High-volume distributed databases, such as Cassandra and Solr

You will join a small agile team; participating in stand-ups, iteration planning, design reviews and other typical agile ceremonies.

You are experienced at building web applications and services using object-oriented programming languages, preferably in Java with frameworks like Spring or Guice.

You can write accurate, readable, and organized code in Java 8. Required Qualifications:

4+ years of progressive responsibilities in one or more of the following areas: software/web development, application delivery, design or architecture for web or service oriented environments

Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years’ hands-on experience implementing and deploying modern web development solutions including: Java, Groovy, Ruby, Spring, REST web services, HTTP, NoSQL databases (e.g. Cassandra), IBM MQ or RabbitMq, XML, JSON, Linux

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience)

Experience working on teams using agile methodologies

Comfort working with Mac OS X and Linux/shell scripting

Specific software development experience in Java 8 and Spring 4 (esp. Spring Framework and Spring Boot)
