Java Developer

Gallup is looking for a full-time Java developer to join the team in our Madison, Wisconsin, office. We are seeking a sharp, motivated, and well-seasoned developer to perform in an Agile Development environment, including gathering requirements and software design, implementation, testing and deployment, with minimal supervision.

All candidates should demonstrate strong independent problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical and conceptual skills and be able to manage multiple tasks and meet scheduled milestones. In addition, you should enjoy working on complex system software and must be willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of core Java and Web application fundamentals required
• Experience working on large projects
• Ability to understand a system by reading code
• Understanding of distributed and multithreaded code
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related degree required

Desired Skills

• Three+ years of experience with enterprise Java systems
• Knowledge of or experience with Maven
• Knowledge of or experience with Git or SVN
• Knowledge of or experience with GWT
• Experience with continuous integration
• Knowledge of or experience with REST services
• Knowledge of or experience with agile development methods
• Knowledge of or experience with Javascript frameworks
