IT Systems Support Specialist

Overview

Symbria has an outstanding opportunity for a customer service focused Systems Support Specialist to add to our growing Information Technology Team. In this role, you will utilize your knowledge and expertise to support our associates throughout the organization as a vital member of the Helpdesk team. While you will be responsible for closing out IT tickets in a timely manner, you will also have the opportunity to provide support to Symbria’s applications, test software for release, document support processes, and perform light software development tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of Symbria’s software applications.
  • Develop and automate software tests.
  • Document and distribute IT equipment to employees.
  • Test internally developed software for release and responsible for software releases.
  • Test upgrades of third party software before deployment.
  • Document support and testing procedures.
  • Respond to requests submitted via company trouble ticket system.
  • Provide phone support for all company products.
  • Recommend new approaches and software as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate progression to enhance skillsets through completed courses or certifications annually.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience working with computers; minimum three years.
  • Knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operation; of information systems; of computer software and hardware; of information security policies and procedures; of local and wide area networks; and of the management of information systems.
  • Skilled in the use and support of personal computers, in the use of applicable programs and systems, and in troubleshooting information systems.
  • Ability to operate information technology systems and to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well with people over the phone and explain technical steps in non-technical terms.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to prioritize, work as part of a team and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
