Peak Reliability’s (Peak) two Reliability Coordination Offices (RCO) provide situational awareness and real-time monitoring of the Reliability Coordinator (RC) Area within the Western Interconnection.

Peak’s RC Area includes all or parts of 14 western states, British Columbia, and the northern portion of Baja California, Mexico.

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Manager IT Systems Administration, this IT System Administrator will provide day-to-day system administration of the Peak Reliability Coordination
servers and network devices.

Major Duties:

  • Installs new server hardware and related operating systems
  • Installs new software releases for infrastructure services
  • Installs security and functional patches, firmware and drivers
  • Resolves operating system and hardware problems
  • Performs hardware and operating systems
  • Implement project solutions to meet business objectives under the direction of management or technical leadership
  • Manage infrastructure services to include:
    • Authentication
    • Anti-Virus/Malware
    • Whole-disk encryption
    • Patch management
    • PKI and other security and encryption services
    • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
    • Backup and recovery
  • Maintain inventory of all systems
  • Document and update workflow resolutions
  • Provide recommendations on software and hardware purchases as requested
  • Assist IT and other departmental employees with projects and support
  • Decommission outdated equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • Associates degree in computer science, related technical IT field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience resulting in demonstrated ability to perform
    major duties.

Experience/Skills

  • Two – four years’ work experience in an information technology role with an emphasis on end-user service. Work experience will be gauged in the follow areas:
    • Support server hardware
    • Microsoft server operation systems
    • Microsoft Exchange
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Microsoft Data Protection Manager
    • AVG administration console
    • Cisco Call Manager
    • AVTEC phones
    • Nexpose
    • Sage asset inventory
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to learn quickly, work independently and function effectively in a team environment.
