IT Support Engineer

Amazon, is seeking bright, adaptable, and hardworking applicants to work at our Seller Support location in Tempe, AZ. IT Support Engineers work with internal Amazon Seller Support teams to provide and support the IT equipment and services they need. We treat Amazon employees as our customers and provide timely, accurate, and professional support. A successful IT Support Engineer excels in a fast-paced, team environment and possesses excellent communication skills. They have a high degree of technical aptitude over a large scope of IT software, hardware, and networking disciplines.

Regular activities include:

• Windows OS deployment and support
• User hardware/software/peripheral support
• LAN troubleshooting and support
• Inventory management
• Creating and maintaining documentation
• Communication with seller support agents, leadership, remote teams and vendors
• Mentoring and handling escalations from junior technicians
• On-call support (nights/weekends/holidays)
  

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on IT Support experience
• 2+ years supporting Microsoft Windows in an enterprise environment
• 2+ years PC hardware support experience
• Understanding of computer networking concepts
• Proven ability in communicating verbally and in writing with peers, management, contractors and vendors
• Willingness to work flexible shifts. This includes occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays (if needed). Site hours are Sun-Sat 5am-8pm Eastern. Some afterhours support may also be required during change management tasks.
• Experience working autonomously with limited supervision
• Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Able to lift 25lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or IT related field.
• Linux systems administration skills
• Microsoft MCSE, MCITP Systems Administrator (Active Directory) and Cisco CCNA certifications
• Experience with Data Cabling / Computer Facilities maintenance
• Mac OS troubleshooting
