IT Support Analyst

This role will providetechnical support to the end user population of 300+ at NBCUniversal inChicago, maintaining the infrastructure,addressing security needs, providing desktop support, and other technologyrelated duties. This position interacts directly with the end users, includingnewsroom operations, sales and others all with varying priorities and needs. This positionwill work closely with Broadcast Engineering to provide ongoing systemmaintenance throughout the newsroom and technical core including diagnosis andimprovements in the broadcast IT system. Other job responsibilities include:
Appropriately handle and track customersupport requests to 5544Help, our helpdesk system, communicating with end-useron progress and resolution of their requests.
Be visible and accessible in the workplaceto proactively seek out issues via regular check-ins with key stakeholders
Performupgrades utilizing the SCCM system and manually as needed, resolve problems,and maintain end user PC’s, laptops and other devices
Troubleshoottechnically advanced hardware and softwareissues courteously and expeditiously

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant field
Minimum 2 years working in an enterprise IT environment supporting a large user base
In-depth experience (2+ years) with MS Windows XP, Win7 desktop, 2000/2003/2007 server, Active Directory, Dell desktop equipment, Multi-Media Platforms, Internet/Intranets, Mac hardware/OS.
Proven experience in recommending, installing, configuring and maintaining network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
Solid understanding and experience with Storage Architectures (NAS/SAN),
Knowledge of database fundamentals related to SQL Server
Knowledge of scripting languages
Must understand digital production and file based workflows
Knowledge of broadcast workflows and technology (studio, production control, automation) a plus
