EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Provides oversight and leadership to the teams responsible for managing the State of Nebraska’s Exchange email, Active Directory and other Identity Management systems Responsible for infrastructure related procurement, disaster recovery planning and maintenance of the the infrastructure supporting these systems Ensures compliance with all federal and other regulatory requirements Establishing a proactive customer service oriented environment and creating a team atmosphere Responsible for working with internal and external customers, other IT staff and senior management to analyze, model and implement solutions which achieve a balance between cost considerations and business requirements while maintaining consistency with the overall technical architecture and the State’s IT strategic plan Responsible for supervision of assigned staff including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating and correcting job performance. Evaluate, develop and/or modify systems as necessary to respond to customer needs Assure that customers are served in an effective and responsive manner Participate in budget development and manage expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget Supervise and manage equipment and other resources allocated to the team

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience in a related information technology discipline (network infrastructure, coding, systems or database); experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis, one year of which as a project coordinator, leader, or supervisor.

PREFERRED: Ability to train and supervise technical staff; ability to plan, organize coordinate and evaluate the work of others Analyze new and existing technology solutions and prepare prioritized budget recommendations Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other agencies, employees, vendors, contractors and the general public Have the ability to develop policies and procedures and communicate effectively Advanced knowledge of project management theory and application

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Extensive knowledge of information technology theory, principles and practices Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010 or newer Knowledge of training methods, techniques and procedures Skill in human relations and diplomacy; skill in working with widely diverse individuals Skill in delivering responsive, quality customer service Ability to write clear and concise documentation of systems and procedures Ability to successfully apply information engineering techniques; ability to effectively test and debug systems and programs Ability to accurately estimate time and cost requirements in project development and implementation Ability to plan, organize, meet schedules and time lines for assigned work
