Job Description
A IT Solution Architect at Micron is an Architecture position where the proper candidate will possess both development skill and architectural abilities/knowledge to help manage Enablement solutions that drive Operations automation. They will be a functional part of one or more active Agile teams and may be responsible for architectural and/or development tasks during any given sprint.

Additionally, they participate in the ongoing partnership and communication with associated Enterprise Architects, Operations leadership, Program/Project Managers, and with project teams to develop and implement systems that align with Micron’s Systems Architecture and Roadmaps.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Roadmaps and future direction
  • Solutions Architect need to understand (in detail) how our IT solutions solve a business problem both today and enable the business plan for the future. Strong competency of “Business Acumen”
  • Provide input into future IT Capability Roadmaps
  • Participate in the creation of business, data, application and technology architectures and provide architectural and engineering support for projects
• Within Domain
  • Learn and understand the business requirements for one or more domains
  • Provide subject matter expertise to projects and support functions/groups
• Within Projects
  • Solution design, Code Reviews, Artifacts up to date, and Developing code
• Technologies
  • Driving consistencies across technologies and solutions
  • Develop and evangelize best practices
• Execute all EA processes by using the Architecture Development Methodology, Project Architecture Review, and Roadmap Management processes to ensure the value and flexibility of Micron’s information technology.

Experience or knowledge in several of the following skills or technologies desired

• Programming in C# and/or Java and/or C/C++
• Web application development and/or Web Services
• Database design and SQL queries on multiple database systems
  • Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle (possibly PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• ETL technology: SSIS, Informatica, WhereScape, NiFi, or other custom solutions
• One or more scripting languages PowerShell, Perl, Bash, etc.
• Big Data platforms and technology: HDFS, Hadoop, Hive, HBASE, MapReduce
• Reporting and/or analytics solutions: SSAS, SSRS, Tableau, Business Objects
• Graph database development and design (Neo4j preferred)
