POSITION SUMMARY:

Under broad direction, leads and supports operations, maintenance and implementation activities for Navy Data Centers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists leadership in determining tactical and strategic direction of the organization as it relates to security, lifecycle management and customer service.
• Researches, analyzes, and recommends operational support technologies, tools, and techniques.
• Conducts system support design and performance evaluation reviews. Identifies, develops, and updates operational support standards and procedures.
• Keeps abreast of emerging operational support technologies and industry trends.
• Recommends price/performance improvement opportunities.
• Maintaining Redhat and Solaris physical and virtual servers in a production data center.
• Responsibilities also include: scripting, security hardening, upgrades, troubleshooting, monitoring, coordinating off site DR / Coop configurations and mentoring others.

EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS:

• 3-5 years experience as an engineer and/or systems administrator
• Redhat Server certification
• EMC and Netapp experience
• Skills: Unix, Linux -Lead
• In accordance with DoD 8570.01; Candidate must meet the Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II requirements by having the following certification: Security+ CE
• Must be a United States Citizen to support this government contract, possess and maintain a current SECRET level security clearance.
