IT SCRUM Master – 49840BR

Provides a consistent, effective IT Project Management using proven frameworks and methodologies and a solid foundation of resource management, process improvement, task management, meeting facilitation and project performance reporting.

The HDMS Scrum Master will be responsible for administering an agile based framework (Scrum, SAFe) for development and operational work tasks in support of the HDMS PMO and Technology Roadmap. Process oversight in the implementation of large, complex technology and business oriented projects. Will also be responsible for the coaching/mentoring of HDMS staff on agile framework principles and methodologies as it is implemented and used during the project development life cycle.

Fundamental Components:
Administer agile framework and methodologies (SAFe, Scrum) for software development and business project work by maintaining necessary standards, tools and best practices.
Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meeting
Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress
Maintain process and project documentation
Ensure the development teams are practicing core agile principles
Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on Product & Sprint Backlogs.
Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practice
Support the development managers and project leads as necessary
Assist with internal communication, improving transparency, and information sharing
Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection, task definition
Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal
Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution and empower the teams to self-organize
Monitor and provide insight into how to improve the productivity of the teams
Participate in the organization and planning of the development schedule to create a cohesive plan with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, and major milestones, and manages the agreed project plans and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Excellent team player and team builder
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a very dynamic and timeline sensitive work environment
Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
Ability to understand technical issues at a high level

Bachelor’s degree in a closely-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, MBA a plus.
Must be a Certified Scrum Master with 5+ years project management experience.

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Telework Specifications:
Part-Time Telework (ex: 2 days office-based, 3 days telework)
