This position in schedule-range 07-32 with a starting annual salary of $67,891 – $103,292, depending on qualifications, plus great benefits. A 12 month probationary period is required. Pay for internal candidates will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan rules.

Come join our Enterprise Data Services team as an IT Project Manager. This position is within our Division of Business Management / Bureau of Information Technology Services, which is located at the new Hill Farms State Office Building at 4822 Madison Yards Way in Madison.

Position Summary:

The IT Project Manager position will coordinate concurrent IT projects encompassed by the Enterprise Data Service Section’s business plans. This position is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of highly complex, integrated IT systems across multiple business areas, including systems developed internally or externally and purchased software/systems hosted internally or externally. This position interprets and implements use of statewide strategic information technology architectures.

This position is responsible for establishing objectives, schedules, and priorities for major IT systems and is directly responsible for providing direction to staff of IT analysts and developers, including coordinating the work of task forces and committees that are composed of IT and customer personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Extensive knowledge and skill in project management and development life cycle processes (i.e. planning, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, support)
  • Extensive experience leading highly visible, complex IT projects which have significant organizational impact
  • Extensive knowledge and skill with infrastructure project management and the application development process in a multi-vendor client/server and web environment
  • Considerable knowledge and skill in developing statements of work, service level agreements, and roles/responsibility matrices
  • Considerable knowledge and skill in the strategic IT planning process, including knowledge of technology trends
  • Extensive skill in working in and building leadership and a team-building environment
  • Knowledge of document management

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing multiple complex IT infrastructure and application development projects.


Complex IT infrastructure and application development projects experience should include using multiple infrastructure components such as: servers, applications, databases, web, document management, business intelligence, etc.

  • Experience managing IT project teams for enterprise-wide projects.
