The Legislative Services Office is accepting applications for the position of

IT Programmer to work with a great Application Development team in developing and maintaining a variety of custom applications for the Legislature. Our application is written in Java EE, Oracle and XML. Object oriented analysis and/or design; JAVA programming and relational database experience is required. Knowledge of Linux, XML and Oracle is desirable. A good candidate should have a positive attitude, good programming skills, and a passion for building and maintaining quality software. 1-2 years’ professional/internship experience in object oriented programming preferred. Recent college graduates and students graduating soon are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and support all aspects of applications programming
  • May maintain and modify vendor software packages
  • Coordinates resolution of problems
  • May participate in establishing and maintaining system standards
  • Develop reports using, but not limited to, JasperrReports, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • May include some database administration
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: Experience in object oriented application development, programming in JAVA; develop, implement, and maintain Enterprise Java applications; write programming documentation. Knowledge of data modeling concepts and relational database definitions. Experience performing programming with database applications.

Required Experience: Object oriented application development, programming in JAVA EE, develop, implement, and maintain Enterprise Java applications; write programming documentation. Experience writing applications with relational databases; strong SQL skills.

Desirable Experience: Internet related technologies such as web design/programming using WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, and HTML. Linux, JAVA EE, programming with version control, Oracle JDeveloper IDE; Oracle Web Logic Server, Oracle JasperReports, Apache Tomcat, Apache Web Server and XML Schemas.
