Idaho Power — headquartered in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for 2 experienced IT Operations Center Administrator to join our technology team. What does an IT Operations Center Administrator do at Idaho Power? This position performs tier 1 systems administration functions for assigned applications to ensure supported systems are reliable, efficiently maintained and available in order to support customer productivity. The IT Operations Center Administrator is also responsible for providing first level response for monitored system alerts. Working under supervision this position will analyze, install, configure, upgrade, document, monitor and maintain software and hardware in support of business processing requirements. The supported systems you may be working with are operating systems, business applications, server hardware, security tools, monitoring tools, web servers, application servers, integration servers, and other departmental or enterprise applications or systems.

Our IT Operations Center is responsible for after-hours operations and end-user troubleshooting for various systems and services. The IT Operations Center is responsible for 24x7x365 infrastructure monitoring and first response, incident management for all IT systems, applications and Data Center building facilities. Through effective monitoring, timely high-quality communication, alerting and consistent tracking of incident progress, the IT Operations Center strives to reduce the likelihood, duration and impact of outages. REQUIRED SKILLS

Knowledge of:

  • Operations support software- enterprise monitoring, scheduler, backup/recovery, and change control
  • Device management concepts, principles, maintenance, and operation
  • Networking concepts, and troubleshooting
  • Fundamentals of scripting
  • Windows and Linux Operating systems
  • IT Security concepts
  • Skills in:

  • Automation utilizing a scripting language such as PowerShell

  • Security SIEM tools usage
  • Network equipment updatesupgrades
  • Use of orchestration tools
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

  • AAS degree or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and certifications
  • Preferred:

  • BA degree specializing in IT or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and certifications
  • Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in a technology operations environment or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred:

  • 4 years of experience in an IT operations environment, communications systems, control systems, security functional area or equivalent work experience with real time systems
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.     ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    Must be able to work various shifts as requested or scheduled which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
