Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is hiring an IT Network, Server, and Security Administrator who maintains the computing environment by identifying network and server requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance, problem diagnosis, and resolution. The Administrator will work directly with WEDC’s hosting and managed service provider on implementation services for WEDC IT network, server, and security functions. He/she will also configure, deploy and maintain the enterprise security infrastructure. The Administrator will complete any necessary security reports, audit responses, and ensure that WEDC is compliant with all applicable regulations, security policies, guidelines, best practices, and strategy. Areas of technical expertise will involve: servers; networks; security practices and procedures; infrastructure and domain architecture; and internet technologies.

Position Summary: The IT Network, Server, and Security Administrator will spend a majority of his/her time in these activities:
Configure, deploy, and maintain the enterprise security infrastructure.
Implement IT tools that support WEDC goals.
Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Maintain a high degree of system uptime.
Demonstrate core values and behaviors of WEDC.
Effectively demonstrate communication, organization, problem solving, project management, continuous improvement and interpersonal skills.
Contribute to Core Team performance.
Support, maintain and upgrade servers at all WEDC facilities.
Analyze problems, recommend solutions, products, and technologies to meet business objectives.
Interact others to effect solutions in support of technical and business requirements.
Document, configurations and procedures as required.
Actively protect WEDC information technology assets and infrastructure from external or internal threats and ensure that WEDC complies with requirements regarding information access, security, and privacy.
Establish network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
Contact and work with vendors in a courteous and friendly manner to resolve issues and problems as they occur.
Contribute to testing newly acquired equipment and software to guarantee that it will operate suitably in the WEDC environment.
Upgrade network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Provide regular and periodic reports on the status of projects, tasks, and activities.
Maintain a program of professional development through appropriate training courses, selected reading, user groups, professional groups, conferences, and seminars.
Share technical skills and knowledge with other staff.
Represent the Vice President as directed.
Other duties as assigned.

Special Notes: State-wide travel will occur on an occasional basis, less than 20% of the time. Travel is anticipated to include day travel.
This position is eligible for reimbursement according to the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. This position requires the employee to provide a mobile device that allows for phone, text, and email access.
Based on the responsibilities of this position, this position may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Qualifications: Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field or combination of equivalent experience/education.
Minimum of 2 years of related professional, progressive IT experience.

Skills and Talents:
Knowledge of network design principles and practices.
Strong project management skills.
Knowledge of current hardware and software design and operation.
Knowledge of security principles and practices.
Ability to execute feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses.
Knowledge of research and development analysis techniques.
Strong communication skills.
