The Director, IT will create, implement and continually refine the business operating processes to drive a culture of predictable execution and deliver results – on budget, on plan. This position will work extensively with cross functionally. It is expected that the Director, IT will be an individual who has the ability to establish rigorous processes to drive business performance. While managing the business operating processes, s/he will partner with priority owners, and the cross functional leadership team to foster an environment of accountability, excellence, collaboration, and execution within RED Hydrogen.

  • Develop, and manage RED Hydrogen’s technology team around infrastructure & systems engineering and operations, and user experience & support.
  • Create RED Hydrogen technology architecture standards and principles; develop and maintain RED’s reference architecture.
  • Participate and contribute to building business plans, strategic direction, and standards for procedures and policies related to technology systems architecture and integration.
  • Review new and existing technology projects, systems design and plans, and conducting research on emerging technologies to support changes in systems and applications infrastructure.
  • Planning, allocation and scheduling of all engineering resources required to successfully complete an implementation or project.
  • Implement effective project control by creating operating rhythms and processes, monitoring the progress of projects and report on the status to key stakeholders.
  • Review, direct, and prioritize the work load of technology staff.
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all Technology systems, including servers, PCs, virtual machines, telecom, software applications, and peripherals.
  • Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions, and file maintenance.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing guidance to Technology staff and to end-users.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.
  • Assist in development and implementations of all IT policies and procedures, including architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, licensing compliance and service provision.
  • Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, consultant contracts, and service agreements for IT and telecommunications services.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a related technical position.
  • Experience with creating, developing, and managing an IT department from the ground up.
  • Experience with complex enterprise-wide systems implementation and integration within a heterogeneous environment.
  • Experience with architecture, implementation and integration of one or more large-scale enterprise systems, e.g. ERP, Supply Chain, HRIS, Financial.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Diverse technical background in multiple technologies, platforms and applications.
  • Proficient in information and cyber security best practices; experience applying security best practices and integrating into solutions and operations.
  • Background working in highly confidential environments and roles with exposure to confidential data.
